Hot springs, raging rivers, lush forests, and a spectacular waterfall

The Sol Duc area of Olympic national park really has it all. With a luxurious hot springs resort right near the trail head you couldn’t ask for a better place to start, or end your adventure. Hike the main trail to see the three waterfalls that make up the spectacular Sol Duc waterfalls. On the way you’ll enjoy the lush ferns, colorful mushrooms and thick woods that cover the valley. The parking lot here isn’t very big and does fill up quick so get to the trail head early and plan to have your photoshoot here as early or late as possible.

Planning an elopement at Sol Duc

The Sol Duc trailhead can get really busy, real fast. If eloping here make sure your plan includes being there as close to sunrise as possible. A feat made much easier if staying at the nearby hot spring resort. The trail itself isn’t too challenging but it is about two miles out and back for the falls but adding side trails can increase that. There’s also a nearby stop along the Sol Duc River that has some incredible photography opportunities! I recommend you take advantage of as well.
