Climb some elevation and find yourself a mountain lake with reflections of the iconic Mt Hood for your elopement adventure. Oregon is a state that experiences four distinct seasons, each with its unique charm and appeal. So what are they like?
Spring
In the spring (March to May), the state experiences mild temperatures, blooming wildflowers, and lush greenery. This season is perfect for couples looking for a fresh and vibrant atmosphere. However, the weather can be unpredictable during this season, with occasional showers. So you’ll want to bring an umbrella for your wedding day.
Fall
In the fall (September to November), Oregon experiences a beautiful autumn season, with stunning foliage and comfortable temperatures. This season provides an ideal backdrop for couples looking for a cozy and romantic wedding. However, by the end of October, the rainy season sets in, so plan accordingly.

In summertime the mountain trails thaw out and if you want to escape the heat you can also escape to the coast which tends to be cooler, albeit far more crowded. Alright full disclosure, this one is my personal favorite so I may be a little biased in this review of it. The Oregon Coast is an ideal elopement destination for couple who love stunning sea stacks, towering coastal cliffs, picturesque sandy beaches With over 363 miles of coastline, Oregon has a wide variety of coastal landscapes to chose from. As an elopement photographer I just can’t get enough of this place.
One of the highlights of the Oregon Coast is the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, which stretches over 40 miles of sand dunes and offers a unique and breathtaking setting for a romantic elopement. The area is perfect for adventurous couples who love hiking, sandboarding, and off-road driving.
Another iconic wedding destination is the Cannon Beach, famous for its towering sea stacks and wide sandy shorelines. The beach provides a perfect spot for a sunset elopement ceremony, with the Haystack Rock forming an impressive backdrop. Also check out Neptune’s Beach, and Devils Churn.

WHEN TO VISIT : The best time to visit the Oregon Coast for an elopement depends on how much you dislike crowds. The weather is best during the summer months, from June to August, when temperatures are milder, and it is generally drier, providing excellent conditions for an outdoor marriage ceremony. It is unfortunately more crowded this time of year so you can always brave the rain and elope in the off season.

IMPORTANT INFO : Most of the coastline is accessed by a Hwy 101 and the mostly two land road can get congested with RVs so it might take longer than you think to get around.
WHERE TO STAY : Look for accommodations in Yachats, Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, and Newport.
2. Crater Lake national Park
Crater Lake National Park is a breathtaking destination in southern Oregon that is a dream location for couples looking to elope or get married surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The park is a popular destination in the summer months (June to August) when the weather is warm and dry, and the roads and facilities are open.
