Dylan & Olivia’s Stormy Glacier Elopement

Eloping in Glacier is always an Adventure

Even in summer the weather of this rugged wilderness is always a bit unpredictable. Sudden thunderstorms can come out of nowhere and bathe the park in heavy rain. Gusts of wind rush across the mountain tops carry the chill of the glaciers above and thick blankets of clouds race across the landscape. All this only adds to the adventure though. My favorite elopements are often the ones with these kinds of wild weather.

Olivia and Dylan really lucked out on their wedding day. The heavens didn’t open up on us keeping us dry, but gave us a spectacular sky full of moody clouds. The perfect backdrop to start the day on Lake Joesphine in Many Glacier. From there we explored the areas other spectacular sites before heading off to Lake Saint Mary. The wind was intense but that just served to give some great movement to Olivia’s wedding dress. After some incredible shots at Sun point we made out way up into the clouds for an intimate vow reading at Big bend. There the clouds engulfed us and we all were mesmerized by the ghostly visions of distant mountains drifting in and out of view in the cloud cover. But we weren’t done yet. After a full day of storm clouds we found ourselves on the west side of the park enjoying the golden light of sunset filtering through the forest canopy. A perfect end to another perfect day in Glacier. They couldn’t of asked for better conditions for their elopement.
